Oviedo Little League Zero Tolerance Policy
The majority of the officials and all of the coaches involved with Oviedo Little League (OLL) are volunteers and we should appreciate their efforts and time.  We should support one another and set a good example for the children.  Cheering in a positive fashion is highly encouraged. OLL is a recreational league with fun being the primary goal.

Oviedo Little League (OLL) has a zero tolerance policy for adult misbehavior at all OLL functions whether it be a practice, game, or other OLL sanctioned event. This misbehavior includes but is not limited to:
  • Booing, shouting at officials, or arguing any call.
  • Foul language.
  • Expressing any negative behavior or comments, threats or obscene gestures to players, coaches, officials or parents.

Any spectator who does not behave appropriately (as directed above) will be asked to leave, according to the following steps:
  1. Official(s) will identify violators to the managers or vice versa.
  2. Official(s) will confer with both managers, one of whom will then approach the spectator and may give a warning, or ask them to leave. If the spectator is not recognized by either manager, the home manager will speak to him/her.
  3. If the decision is made for the spectator to leave, play will not resume until he/she has left the facility. If he/she refuses to leave, his/her team will forfeit, and the game will be over.
  4. If the violation is occurring during practice, the OLL VP of the division and the league president should be notified.
  5. The authorities will be called if necessary.

Any OLL coach or manager who does not behave appropriately (as directed above) will be asked to leave, according to the following steps:
  1. Official(s) will identify violators to the managers.
  2. Official(s) will confer with both managers and may give a warning, or ask the offending coach/manager to leave.
  3. If the decision is made by the official for the coach or manager to leave, play will not resume until he/she has left the facility. If he/she refuses to leave, his/her team will forfeit, and the game will be over.
  4. The authorities will be called if necessary

If there is a situation involving the use of profanities or ANY pushing, shoving, hitting or verbal threats, the steps above should be followed.
  • Use of profanities will result in the suspension of the next game.
  • Violators of physical contact will receive a minimum one week (7 consecutive days) suspension from attending any Little League activities for the first offense.  This one week suspension must include at least one game.
  • The second offense could result in being banned from the field for the remainder of the season.
** OLL Board will consider suspension length case by case.

Please help us foster good sportsmanship, and encourage positive experiences for our youth.
Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated.

As stated in Official Regulations and Playing Rules if Little League Baseball:
Rule 9.05 – (a) The umpire shall report to the league president within 24 hours after the end of the game all violations of rules and other incidents worthy of comment, including the disqualification of any manager, coach or player, and the reason therefore.
(b) When any manager, coach or player is disqualified for a flagrant offense such as the use of obscene or indecent language, or an assault upon an umpire, manager, coach or player, the umpire shall forward full particulars to the league president within 24 hours after the end of the game.
(c) After receiving the umpire’s report that a manager, coach or player has been disqualified, the league president shall require such manager, coach or player to appear before at least 3 members of the Board of Directors to explain their conduct.  In the case of a player, the manager shall appear with the player in the capacity of an advisor.  The members of the Board present at the meeting shall impose such penalty as they feel is justified.
NOTE: The Board may impose such penalties that it feels are warranted, but may not lessen the requirements of Rule 4.07.

Rule 4.07 – When a manager, coach or player is ejected from a game, they shall leave the field immediately and take no further part in the game.  They may not sit in the stands and may not be recalled.  A manager or coach ejected from a game must not be present at the game site for the remainder of that game. Any manager, coach or player ejected from the game is suspended for his or her team’s next physically played game and may not be in attendance at the game site from which they were suspended.
